DSE users

Ok this is for people who have tried DSE, NOT the people who have an opinion. please let me know about your experience with it. I know there are a lot of people out there that talk it down (snake oil etc.), but I what to know from people who have actually tried it.

I got started with that.

My issue was not with the secret potion but more with the process cutting too many corners.

I do not feel their additive does anything that you cannot do with some naptha, xylene, or turpentine off of the store shelf. That's fine. My issue is that the way they have you dilute the WVO is not getting the WVO thin enough to match the viscosity of D2, especially if temps drop even slightly. I also feel a much better fuel is made if more serious efforts are taken to de-water. Another area is how fast they claim the WVO can be processed from collection to being put into your vehicle. If you go this route, you'll find that the longer you let the WVO just sit and settle (I also do a mist wash) the more stuff will drop out. That makes your filters in your processing set up last longer and helps with dewatering.

In conclusion, I run a blend in my two vehicles. I do not use their additive, but rather I choose other additives. I still use the filter set up they recommend. I have greatly expanded on their process.

what additives do you use? i was going to go the methanol and lye mix, but i think that the methanol is going to cost too much. what do you do to get rid of the water?
