Methanol recovery system(s)?

Hello all!
I just finished my processor and first batch, and now it's time (yes already) to start on my methanol recovery system.
does anyone have plans, pictures, descriptions available?
I've tried all the main BD sites, but none of them are accurate enough for me to try.
I have a metal 55gal drum that im storing the glycerine in. can i heat this up and route a tube out the top and thru a condensor? or does it need to be more complicated?
thanks!

Yes, you can boil off the MeOH directly from your 55 gal drum with the addition of a simple condenser. The problem is the Btu's required to heat the glycerol. You would be better off using a smaller tank, and doing smaller batches.

I used to use vacuum to remove the MeOH at a lower temp, but you need a "pressure- vessel" not a thin 55 gal drum.

I've since switched to a completely different system, which I cannot get into here...................

I recover all the excess MeOH from my glycerol AND the biodiesel.

I'd be careful with that,
Cant you reverse the reaction if you do it that way,
Ex: change the equilibrium point?
How long have you done it that way?

I recover the MeOH in seperate operations AFTER I remove the glycerol from the bio.

I recover the MeOH from my biodiesel before using my dri-wash ( Magnesol)

I've been making and using bio on my ranch for almost 5 years now:-D

oh, ok, i guess i have no room to be questioning you... really, 5 years?
What is this magnesol wash i keep hearing of?
