It's very possible. I have done the install on a 302. It would be a very long tread here for me to post. If you send me an e-mail I can connect you to a company that sells the intake manifold you need, push rods and what pistons you'd need.

In short its a simple transfer. You have to block the water passages in the heads to the block. Redrill the holes on the intake side for water crossover and Ford Motorsport Gaskets. You'd have to use a special intake etc.... If you want High compression you have to use TRW piston L2408 or a Ross setup. It'll yield about 11.1 thats my setup

The name of the company is Bush Automotive in Arkansas. They have everything. If you are familar with this setup it was run in Mustang and Fast Fords 10 years ago. The man who organized this monster setup is Gary Roughly. He has since sold the bussiness to Bush Automovtive. The parts are much higher but still available.

I can't think of there web site off hand but their phone # is 1-501-646-9108. Ask for Guy. He's the machinist I talked too.

If I find the site I'll post it for you.

Thanks guys for the info. The reason I was asking is a buddy of mine is building a 1950 C*%#y coupe. He is a die hard ford guy and he's installing an all FORD Drive Train. We're are both tired of all those guys at the car shows contaminating our fords with that GM JUNK.

I setup a 302 with 2V heads on it about 15 or so years ago. The manifold I used came from a company called "Street Boss". I don't know if they are still around but you might do a search for them. That combination was a real screamer!

LAST EDITED ON 07-Jul-01 AT 03:19 AM (EST)[p]The name of the company was B&A Ford Performance, Inc. Gary Roughly was the founder of the company. The Street Boss was a manifold for the 302 and 351W. Bush Performance now sells the the manifolds and kits to build the Clevor engines

They also have a Track Boss manifolds too. Which is a single plane manifold.

I've heard that one of the molds for the manifold has been lost, but can't remember which one.

I know Rousch Racing makes a manifold for 4bbl heads on the 351W....

Mustang & Fords magazine has recently done some flow tests of 351C 2v and 4v heads vs. aftermarket 351W aluminum heads. According to them, the new technology 351W heads out perform the factory Cleveland heads, and are bolt on. So, it may be a good idea to at least explore all options before going to the trouble of converting 351C heads to fit on a 351W.

Good luck.

I currently got a 302 in my ranchero, and have a set of 351C2V heads just lying around and a few hundred to blow on the engine, so does anyone know how much the special intake costs? and possibly a website that sells them? I d like to see the intake first kinda thing. Also would I have to replace my stock pistons? Its a 69 302 with flattops. I am very interested in doing this project. And thanx for any info you guys provide.

you will most likely lose compression, as the 2v heads have rather large chambers compared to your 302 heads. with your flat tops it might still be acceptable, but it might be a good idea to investigate chamber sizes to work out what you will get exactly.

mnifold for the 302 AND 351W engines? dont they have different deck heights? hence you need a custom manifold different to a boss intake

A couple guys said in this thread its been done on 302s before. I hope it can be done still, Id love to use my 351C heads instead of my puny 302 stock ones, and theres no way i can afford a set of new heads

You can put the 351c 2v heads on your 302 , But if you dont change pistons you will end up with a motor that will have about 7.0:1 compression ratio or maybe lower . Valves may also hit pistons ( reliefs are not cut the same in a windsor motor )
Heads will need to be modified for water ports ( block off stock block to head water passage , Drill new head to manifold water passage . Some heads will have exhaust ports ( emission ports ) that need pluging .
302 boss length push rods are needed .
Intake manifold will be needed to fit the 2v intake port size . You have a couple of options . Adapter plates that will allow you to use most any small block ford intake manifolds
( www.pricemotorsport.com ) PME price motorsport eng .
Bush perfofmance engines 1-800-890-4588 is another option for intake manifold , they bought out B&A and still produce intakes for this conversion , and can also help with other accessories needed .
Hope I helped
