How to program your key fob (94 Truck)
Ok it was difficult to find anything on how to programm new key fob's so I thought I would help others looking for the same information.
First find you keyless entry module. On my F-150 it was just behind the panal just right of the column. Now look for the wire harness going to it. On that harness is a two pin conector with nothing pluged into it. The wire colors will be gray with yellow strip and white with yellow strip. Make a jumper wire. Second turn on the key then momentarily short the conector you should hear the doors lock and unlock. Third push any button on the remote, again the doors should lock and unlock. Repeat this step for any other remotes to be programmed (only this step). Finally turn off the key you should hear the doors lock and unlock again, programming is now done. I hope this helps. |

All information is good to post. I have personally saved time and money from learning off the boards.
The only problem with having two different vehicles on the same FOB, is if you accidentaly hit the panic button, maybe only one vehicle will go off, then when you hit it again to silence, the other vehicle will go off, and then you have a back and forth session trying to silence both. Yes, this has happened several times! lol. |
neighbor is a ford mechanic and gave me an extra transmitter he had lying around his garage and programmed mine and jumped that connector with a paper clip and the doors lock/unlock that lets you know that it's ready to be programmed. Also you have to program all the remotes together in a sequence even the one that is already programmed to the vehicle so push a button on one transmitter then do the same for the remaining ones, it's extremely easy once you do it.

Fobs
Yes it is easy and as a mechanic for years thanks to Wyo Tech and now a parts guy (cleaner and knee problems) I do all my own work so with the different way's some years are programmed I thought this would be of help. Us Ford (First On Race Day) enthusiasts must stick together and help each other out.

Just wanted to say thanks for this info. I had the hardest time getting my truck to go into programming mode. I have a 1994 F150 XLT 5.8L 4X4 and i couldnt get it into programming mode using the On-Off 8 times method. I saw this and did the jump the grey control module (which was under my dash for those who have a 94 F150 like mine) and the truck responded. Thanks!!

Bumping this thread as I cannot find this plug anywhere on my 94 F150. It has the factory anti-theft. I have one working fob and the shell is almost gone around it.
