I'm not a fan of the fiberglass either. With all the $/time they put into the custom molds for those fenders I wish they would have done something that kept the older lines. Still I think this setup look better than the F600 stuff. The front grill and how low the F600 fenders come down just kills it. There just needs to be some larger flare fenders that keep our grill and headlight setup, and since nothing is made that is why we're looking at making a larger flare fender and hood that keeps the old lines.

those tires look like crap!

ChaseTruck754 03-05-2008 02:18 PM

In your opinion.:-X07

Those tires are the Kevlar sidewall (see 3 ribs in the sidewall) BFG race tires mounted on 17" Walker Evans beadlock rims. They put all the swamper BS crap to shame in terms of strength... and looks IMO.

Here's a writeup on the NON race version (no ribs in the sidewall = NO Kevlar plated sidewalls)

This truck is a purpose built truck for the desert, and therefore it's something the backwoods mud or trail guys would never understand. BUT they could learn a thing or 3 about quality of fabrication by looking at some of the desert trucks!!!!!

greythorn3 03-05-2008 02:45 PM

well it does look like you could get allot of highway millage out of them tires.. but good luck in a mudd hole.

RAy

For what little mud these DESERT trucks will see - it will be fine.

These things do in mud how mud tires do on the highway or anything else - "crappy, but they'll get you through it"

These would be cool on a cc. I guess these would be fallout doors, not suicide.

your absolutely right...the baja style rides have the most advanced go fast and go tough tech available for 4x4's.... The suspension systems are absolutely insane.

I LOVE that truck...I'm working on a tubular flatbed/baja style bed to fit my needs and hope to travel the southern baja someday in style!!!! thanks for the info

The C6 with married t-case will have to have the tailshaft housing changed at least. Other than that I think they are very similar. I'm not sure about the tailshaft - I seems like there is a good possibility that they may also be different. If so, that's a HUGE difference.

roger dowty 03-07-2008 03:36 PM

thanks...i know i can change out the tail housing...have to take the tranny apart to do it though. wish I had the cc to look at real close.

New to this

Hey,
I just aquired a 75 F-250 Crew Cab, SB. 2wd. I've got a 79 Bronco parts truck from my last build, and wanted to swap the 4wd components under the 75, are the frames the same, will this even work?

the frames are different. Personally i wouldnt put the d44 under the f250, its a little small for a heavy beast crew cab. find a d60 to swap in. Any way you look at it, the suspension will have to be custom, but you may be able to use the origional f250 coil towers. Someone on here has done that before.
