460 hard starting
 

I have a 94 F250 With a 460. It is hard starting when cold and pings when at operating tempurature. Any ideas as to the cause is appreciated.

Sounds like the timing is off, if it is stock you should be able to time with a light. If not then by ear you should hear the engine smooth out when you get it close. It will be easier to start and stop sounding like you need to replace a lifter.

try this: after you start it floor it for 1-3 seconds then the idle might go down..
