New Addition
Well I am bringing in a new addition to the Ford family. My coworker found a 1977 F150 Explorer 2WD. The only downside it has a 400 in it. It was owned bye his friends grandpa, and the only rust on it is around the wheel wells on the bed.
I am reeeaaaaly hoping to pick her up this week. My 71 is going to the scrap yard in Axtell so its a win/lose. As a side note this kids grandma drove a 77 F250 4WD with a lift and 33's. I think she would have been fun to meet. |
That 77 F150 is going to be a great truck. What don't you like about the 400? Those motors can be made into something special if you wanted too. IMO, aside from a 460, those 400s are great motors.
I bet that 77 F250 4x4 was a highboy with the factory 4" lift. That is also an awesome truck. |
The downside for me was I wanted to use the smallblock thats in my 71 if it needed an engine. I dont know exactly whats wrong with it yet but the engine is not froze. I have another 400 found incase i need it.
I have a digital camera now so I will post pics when I get her home. |
Scrap yard in Axtell? Where is that scrap yard at? I havent seen anything of that sort around them parts....Axtell, Neb?
|
Axtell Kansas
|
oh, i understand now, sorry, I was getting fired up hoping that there was a hidden scrap yard by Axtell, Neb.
|
Sorry to get you excited for nothin. :)
|
I have a 400 in a 78 Bronco that has an edelbrock intake and 4 barrel. It's not exactly a hot rod, but has good power and does ok off roading.

Hey Darrin, congrats on the new member of your family!!
