Oil leaks, some smoke and knocking
 

My '77 ranchero has a oil leak, the leak is the size of a palm and edge visualy lines up with the right side the of the left tire.

When parking after driving a few miniutes there is some smoke and burning?. There was some knocking when turning off the engine.


ive read about pcv valves and sludge cloging, and that causing gasgets to leak.

What might be the cost of this repair, and could i do at home if i can borrow tools?

Also with the hood up after parking and turning off. I hear boiling from the radaitator
