'92 Ford explorer burning oil?

I just bought a '92 ford explorer and gave it a tune up. I only put about 400 miles on it and I am putting the second qt. of oil in it. I haven't seen any leaks at all and it isn't puffing out blue smoke. I heard I should Check the spark plug from cylinder #5 for crusty deposits. Apparently the lower intake manifold gasket has a habit of leaking oil into that cylinder. Any body have any other ideas before I tear into this thing?

Check the plugs and do a compression test, Post results

this is a fairly common problem on the OHV. Usually it can be fixed by simply torquing the lower intake manifold bolts back up to spec. I remember the first time I did this, they were pretty loose. It can be done without taking anything off, though many like to remove the upper intake. Before you tear it all apart, I would suggest just grabbing a torque wrench and a 10mm and 13mm socket and see if the bolts are just loose.

I already did a compression test and everything was fine

I did torque down the intake it was a little loose but not too bad i'll see how that works.
