MT 2008 Truck OTY

So what is going to be Motor Trend's 2008 Truck of the Year? Tundra...yeah, because it came out late...its the only new thing out there...

SMIGGS 01-24-2008 06:46 PM

Um, and your point?

johntucker09 01-24-2008 07:01 PM

Its just that once again, its going to be obvious who wins, newer is always better...

The Tundra aint better, it dont stack up to a 300/6 and it cant get outta a ditch to much frame flex.

Do you ever think about what you say or is there NO filter between your mind and your mouth?

What pickups are being considered? Old trucks need not apply...
Ford
Dodge
GM
Nissan

Let's see, whose truck didn't I name...

BirdmanStyll 01-25-2008 04:55 PM

it's true a 300/6 would eat a tundra

Doubt it as a 300/6 has no mouth.

I'd like to see the 2008 SD get it if 3/4 tons and up are in it.

4 Wheel and Off road named the Ford Truck TOTY Award.

bf250 01-25-2008 11:56 PM

the 300 would eat it doing what? the tundra as far as i read has plenty of power, but heck, i seen a samurai power through things before great with its little engine, gears are a great thing.

as far as frame flex, an offroaders dream, a complaint about heavy duty trucks in offroading is that huge frame does not like to flex. great for everything except those rocky trails.

I used to like Motor Trend before, but now they're becoming just another version of Consumer Reports.

First back in 2006 they named Ridgeline as truck of the year, and now Tundra wins? What a joke.

Worse. Over many years, they have had worse COTYs. How about Vega, Pacer, Alliance (Renault) and many other total flops?

Pretty much, yeah. And I guess GM and Toyota spend most money on advertising in Motor Trend.
Last year Silverado was truck of the year, Camry was car of the year. This year Tundra is truck of the year and Cadillac CTS is car of the year. GM and Toyota.
