lemon laws?

Does anybody know the lemon law, is there such a thing? Just sold a car I never want to see again, don't want it breaking and them have it come back. I told the buyer everything I knew about the car and sold it on the terms of as-is.

That will be your saving grace, as is, no warranty. Lemon laws typically apply to new vehicles, used is a buyer beware. Not much can happen unless you grossly misrepresent something.

I don't think they apply to private sales, unless there was a warranty expressed or implied.

Thanks, I've asked around to local dealers and they pretty much say the same thing. My only concern was that the car was constatly breaking and in need of repair. My son owned it for six months and I if I had to guess we spent more on repairs than what we paid for it($1400).

Oh the car was a 94 Mazda 626, that says enough right there, but at 16 he had to have it and I don't know anything. I think he learned his lesson and we bought a 99 Mercury Sable today, alot closer to a Ford than a mazda. He's learning.
