What is your fondest memory that included a Ford Truck?
 

Thought this may bring back some nastalgia and increase the Nebraska Chapter Thread count! Mine was the first time my Dad let me drive. It was in a 1947 F1, out in the middle of the plowed wheat field and nothing to hit but a pole that was about a half mile away. I must have been around 5 or 6 because I can remember I had a hard time reaching the clutch and the gas. Still got the truck and the Dad!

Yeh George good thread. I feel a sleep in my Dads 1964 Ford truck on an extremely hot day. He went somewhere an came back back an thought I was a gonner. Rushed me home an was aorried I was fine though. I was about three at the time. Spilt a malted milkshake on the floor an had go back to town to get another one. That cleaned up easily the floor was all rubber.

Wouldn't be nice if we could fix our problems as we get older with a milk shake!

Neat thread, makes you remember some of the good stuff you forgot. Got a couple memories cause my dad drove Ford pickups. The best though involves the 1967 F100. It had a camper shell and a mattress on a frame in the back. We took a vacation down to the Ozarks to do some camping, I was bout 8 or 9. Partway down there my cousins and I had the bright idea to ride the rest of the way down in the topper so we could play cards. How did we ever survive growing up?

At night at the campground some of the other campers would gather round and play some of that good old bluegrass and country while everyone else would sit and listen. Those were the days.

Learning how to drive in dad's old 79 F-250 when I was 8. My oldest brother letting me drive it from my uncle's shop to ours (about 3 miles) when I was probably 11 or so......then after I got my license I would have to say......all the times we did stupid stuff and never got caught. The posi in that old white pickup will really set you sideways on ice and snow, and if you have bad tires......it works good in the rain too.....I also have to add the time I almost got dad's old 97 F-150 stuck three times one morning while checking pivots, and the time last summer I almost got Little White stuck while shutting wells off (there's pics of that in my gallery...)

EDIT- Maybe I should add the time I was making sure the '69 was running good while going into town at night and didn't see the Hall County sherriff on the side of the road.....I got her brought down and he only gave me a warning as I was just crossing the Merrick/Hall Co line....into Hall Co, of course. (It was a Hemi Charger none the less)

first drove when my dad went inside my grandparents house and left me in a red ford escort station wagon, i backed it into my grandparents lincoln continental, good thing too or else i would of went for a long ride through a pasture. yes, i got a butt whoopin, man I was a little fart then

sorry, the last post just brought back a fond memory and it had nothing to do with a ford pickup, anyways then i learned how to drive when i could barely touch the pedels in my dads 1964 f100 6 cylinder manual 4 speed that pulled really hard to the right because he hit a deer a long time ago in it, and it was really hard to drive without power steering, i do remember that and he still has old red too come to think of it

I can remember playing in my uncle Steve's 68 F-100 when we went out to Wyoming to visit them. No one had pickups here in Omaha like we do today, so it was a pretty big deal, playing in it like it was a semi truck! I can also remember my mom and my uncle having us hide under blankets in the bed of that truck under the camper shell. That's how they snuck us into the rodeo without paying, since they charged you for entrance when you drove up!!

A used '56 stub nose farm truck that I got to drive back home from NE Nebraska in the early 60's when I was in high school. We had been on a family vacation and Dad bought it from a farmer he knew in the So Souix City area. It was great because my younger brother and I didn't have to ride in the car anymore with our sister.

It was a neat truck 18 ft box and 5 speed w' 2 speed axle and a 292.

Oh, just to add, I would say the day I went and picked up the '06!!
