Need a metal building

Hey guys and gals-

I am getting a metal building put up soon. I have one estimate for about $15/sq ft. erected, including the concrete. That sounds pretty good to me. Anyone have any input as to whether that's a good deal or not? The building is going up in Watson, near Denham Springs.

That sounds like a good deal to me. Especialy including concrete and assembly. What brand and how big? I am going to be in need of a shop soon.

This is a 30x60. The company doing it is Patten's Metal Express out of Walker, la.

I got a buddy that has one he getting built right now in Ponchatoula. Not sure how big. But I can find out for you and post, but it'll be Tuesday before I'll see him and can get the particulars.

Thanks walrus, I would love to compare and find out what kind of deal he got. This company I have been talking to wants $15/sq ft with the slab and insulation too. I thought it was a pretty good deal, but I need to discuss alot of deatils with them still. Of course, doors, windows, wiring, etc, are not included.

My husband knows of a company near San Antonio (in Seguin, I think). They will travel to your location and deliver and set up. They have great quality. Here is their website (www.metalbuildingdepot.com). They also can send really detailed brochure.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm just watching to see who is the best, b/c I will end up needing one too.

bodabdan, Just talked with my friend.. He's got a 40x40. On one side of the building he's got a 14x40 foot enclosed shop, concrete and insulated with garage doors on either end and a 3 foot entry door on the side with a window. The other 26x40 is open, just the roof, he puts his Camper in there. He's putting limestone in there. Said it was about $18.50/sq ft.

I'm looking for a 60 x 40 with 3 roll up doors. I want to use it for my accessories shop and to do spray on bedliners. Maybe put a lift in one bay.

He!l Yeah, that would be one heck of a shop!

Have to say, I wouldn't mind having that.

Well, I went to Metal building Depot, and they were much higher than alot of places. The good part is that they let you download the software to design it yourself, and it was not that bad to use.
I ran my shop throught the program 2 ways. By the way I am now going with a 40x80, 20' walls. The first time I ran it through with all the bells and whistles it came out to about $45k, the second time was just a plain box and it came out to about $28k.
These 2 quotes were for the building delivered and unassembled, and no slab. So far, Patten's has the best deal going that I have found.
