The January BS thread

Ok you Nebraska guys this thread is about anything you want to talk about. Things going on in your life. Projects you got going on. Pet peeves you have. Just anything you want to talk about. I am trying to think of things to get more people involved an the chapter more active. I thought this would be a great idea. So if you guys have been quiet an not very active its time to get in to the conversation. I seen this done in other chapters an thought it would be great idea. I also thought all off guys could get online a certain time off the day so we could really get this going. So whats the best ime for everybody. Im on a lot at night. How about you? I know Jake,Pat an myself are on about every day. I hope Pat thinks this thread is alright. Anything goes is the word here. Dont be shy guys lets get some action going on. As usual :-X25 Time for the BS to begin.

Ok Ill start do you guys see an old Broncos in your area. There sure getting rare anymore.

cowboywanabe 01-10-2008 04:14 PM

I'm usually on here every day. Don't post that much, though. Depending on my workload, I check in between 2 and 4 pm. Don't always get a chance in the evenings with wife, kids and I all fighting for computer time.

I hardly ever see old broncos around these parts. There is a late 70's Bronco up the street from here that has a plow on it. It's a major rust bucket, I don't know how the plow stays on it.

I looked at a 72 Bronco for sale back in 2006 down in Louisville, NE. I've always wanted one. It was fairly solid, but needed some TLC to be nice. Decided it wasn't the right time to try and take on that project.

Hey Rob! I was wondering where you were! Hey 150, good idea on this thread! You know, I really like the 78-79 broncos, I've always had a thing for those. I had an uncle who used to have a 70 or 71. That thing could climb trees!

150ford 01-10-2008 04:23 PM

Nope not to many around here either unfortunatly. Just tryin to get the chapter more active. I was thinking everybody could at least post one thing a day on the Nebraska forum. That wouldnt be to much to ask really I wouldnt think. I always say what good is a forum if nobody posts. Have you told others about the site. Thats what I am going to do. Tell them about the Nebraska forum. I see some chapters are way more active then others an no reason why we cant be. So tell everybody you know about this forum that will help. If anybody has any off these older broncos pre 74s there worth big bucks if there in good shape.

Pat has done an awesome job getting new folks to join the chapter... hat's off to him for that!

I'll try and speak up a little more often, too.

Just an FYI, I'm usually on here at various times during the day. I'll be getting on more at night starting next week, my computer is unplugged at home, since we're having carpet installed in the basement, where the computer desk usually is. I need to come into the new millenium and talk the wife into getting a laptop for the house!

jseim44 01-10-2008 04:40 PM

A laptop is the way to go. I'm on mine all the time. I usually have it plugged in though. My battery will last for about 2 hours, but it's kind of a hassle to worry about it all the time. I usually just plug it in and take the battery out once it's fully charged. I like being able to be wherever I please.....it's the way to go!!!

How much are these laptops I definitly need one. Will they work everywhere you go?

67nukeford 01-10-2008 04:44 PM

My big thing is, I'm trying to get rid of the enormous computer desk we have in our basement. It takes up waay too much room. I'd like to eventually get a couple video arcade machines for that room, but I need to get rid of the desk! I'll post up a pic in here next week, when the carpet gets put in.

jseim44 01-10-2008 04:44 PM

Mine was about $1200.....being the top dog (at least when I bought it last fall) it cost a bit more. I was also given a deal as I know the owner of the store I bought it from (local businesses are awesome!!!). It just depends on what you get I guess. At Best Buy (or the like) I think they range from $600-$2600!!!! The computer itself will work anywhere, but you have to be able to pickup a wireless internet connection for the internet. Alltel has a few deals where you can get it through your phone, etc. I'm don't know much about that though....

Okay guys, yak away without me, I'm heading home, I'll check in here again tomorrow.

cowboywanabe 01-10-2008 04:47 PM

You should be able to get a decent laptop for $800.

I'm with you on the gigantic computer desk Pat. I told the movers they could "lose" my desk when they moved us, but they didn't. We still have an old desktop for the kids, but I use the laptop most of the time. Problem is, I haven't been able to get my secure wireless network set up right since we moved. I'm not much of a networking guy, so I get into trouble trying to make that stuff work.

150ford 01-10-2008 04:48 PM

I think I will pass for awhile on that. So are you at home now Jake or somewhere else.

jseim44 01-10-2008 04:48 PM

But Pat.....you're kind of the life of the party aren't you???:-bigparty

Or maybe that was "The butt of all jokes"......?:-D
