M.p.g.

what kind of fuel mileage are you guys getting with the 5.4 and 6 speed lash up?

nfntruth 12-24-2007 10:03 PM

10.4 mpg mixed city and highway, gotta love san diego, I have a 3" lift and 33" procomp all-terrain extremes, I am sure they don't help. I had the truck brought down from long beach, the computer said 21 mpg, that was cruise set at 65 95% freeway.

Tmod700 12-25-2007 08:02 AM

Calculated 12.6 mpg mixed city and hwy.

Better then I had thought and that is with the 3.73 rear end.

And it is 4wd.

70% highway, 19 MPG Expy EL 4x4 w/18" rims. FL speeds anywhere from 70 to 75 but stop and go on the highway on the way home.

rich93cw 12-25-2007 11:45 PM

13.4 in suburban driving - not as good as I hoped. That was what my '93 Club wagon with a 5.0 got. The Expy is way better on the highway, though, and also towing. It gets 9.5 with a 5500# travel trailer.

rbarbot2 12-26-2007 09:10 PM

Per the computer, I get 13.5-13.9 on 50/50 city/highway driving. I drive 75 on the highway. Disappointing.

We also pull an 8000 lb. boat trailer. I've reset while towing and average 11.5-12. Not bad for the weight.

Hand calculated 14.5 mpg mixed city and hwy50/50,hwy 80%/city 20% 19.50,best ever 23.3 all hwy at 60-65 mph from starke fl to orlando=140 mile's,took 6 gal's even,It hate's stop & go city driving but realy rock's on the interstate "IF" you keep your speed under control, personaly,I have more time than "MONEY" for waisting $3.00 a gal gas going like a bat out of hell and then bitchen about poor millage, slow the hell down, you might be suprised at what you can get, same with starting out at the traffic light, they are not the christmas tree at the drag strip, more MPG 101.

I am curious about the tow mpg. I am getting ready to drive from San Diego to Charleston, SC. Its about as far as you can go. I will be pulling my flatbed trailer with my Nissan on it. I was expecting around 13mpg.

berry1234 12-27-2007 10:49 AM

About 17mpg 60hwy 40 street.

08limitedel 12-27-2007 07:34 PM

our 08 4x4 with a 3.73 gets 14.5 city and 17 highway at 70 mpg

svt2205 12-28-2007 06:54 AM

Huh???? 13 or 14 with the 6 speed? Our 04 5.4, 4spd auto, 3.73 NBX gets 15 on the highway. Oh wait you've got the 5.4-3V pig in their too.... Never mind

carbonmetallic 12-28-2007 10:38 AM

in the city I am getting anywhere from 10 to 14 depending on how much i get into it. On the highway if I stay 70 or below and don't accelerate fast keeping rpms around 1500 I get 20-23, 23 driving between 55 and 65 and not accelerating much at all. Normally i am driving over 70 and get 17-19.5.

If you keep your foot out of it the truck gets pretty good mpg considering the size and weight.

Same here with my 2007 xlt.

SixPak 12-31-2007 03:22 PM

Finally got a chance to calculate 100% city driving.

14.8 mpg.

not bad for such a behemoth.

I did the math myself, but the mileage calc on the dash was bouncing back and forth from 14.8-14.9, so it seems pretty accurate to me.

SemperFiDevilDog 03-02-2008 12:24 PM

What is the MPG for the 3.31 rear?
