F250 Front Door Speaker Size???
Anyone know the size for Front Door Speakers in a 2001 F250? My drivers side quit working and i need to replace but before taking apart i was wondering if anyone knew what size speaker to order?

I think they're 6x9s. But it takes two minutes to get the door panel off. Take the plastic cover off the top, front side that hides the mirror mounts (pull straight away from the door). Pull up on the power window/lock switches & remove connectors. There is a screw under there. Remove it. Pull the reflector/light off the bottom rear part of the door using a screwdriver -- there's a second screw there. Then just lift straight up on the panel and it will come off. That's it...
This thread contains the same instructions, but also has a link to pics, if that helps: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...oor-panel.html |
The stock front and rear speakers in my '01 supercab were 6x8's.
hope that helps, Austin |
5x7 or 6x8 will work. 6x9 is too big.

Yeah, I couldn't remember since I really wasn't looking at 'em. I was focused on the power window tracks behind it all. BTW, if you're looking at different speakers, you really should pull the panel and measure the depth if nothing else. IIRC, there ain't a lot of space back there...

its 5x7 just changed mine.

thanks ! what kind did you go back with? and what was the speaker depth if you know. i was going to buy some 5 x 7 3-way blaupunkts off of ebay for $30. what do you think? its just the factory stereo so i dont need anything to jam per se, but i would like crisp clear sound quality.

Ya it's 5x7 just did mine as well, I have JL audio XR series in front, and elclipse point sorce in the back(out of my 02 Focus) I had a pair of eclipse intergrated in the back of the Focus, but they cost more to remove then they worth so I left them, when I traded it. Are you going to upgrade your radio at some point or did the factory speakers just die?

I bought some Pioneer TS-A6840R's on eBay, and I'm quite happy with them. The ones currently available there are now TS-A6870R.
They are 6 x 8's, and made specifically as aftermarket for Fords and Mazdas. They're bolt-in. Pop |
