Powerstand(Wheelie)
 

Ok, I know this sounds kinda far-fetched but I just wanted your guys opinion on this idea. How hard would it be, if at all, to make a 79 F350 powerstand? As far as engine/transmission combo and the mods required to those and the truck its self?

of course it would be possible. monster trucks do it. you just need to build a 1500 hp motor, get some really low gears, and some really sticky tires. maybe a stiff or blocked out rear suspension so it wraps up and doesnt squat

unless you have a whole lotta money to burn for no good reason, it would cost way too much to do.

Mount the engine in the back of the truck like a dune buggy. If you have enough HP, you can lift your front end and break your truck in half, when you come down. Monster trucks also do not have the engine in the traditional location, they are mid(or rear, I can't remember) engine setups

Easy, Cheap too

Put the tail gate down an set two pallets of red brick behind the axle, Put it in low range, Max the R's and dump the clutch. Hee-hee It'd be an instant dump truck.

Do a Short box, Cut out the firewall, set motor about as far back as you can (If not in the bed). Install above mentioned 1500hp motor, A Lenco Transmission and a Strange Engineering Rear end,then go talk to John Force for Tire recomendations.

Oh Yeah! Good long travel shocks up front.

Do 350's come in short box?

Haha, ok, so pretty much the general sensus is that I need mid/rear mounted engine, 1500 hp, and some serious tires. I guess thats not too bad......Hahaha. Well supposedly hen my mother first bought the truck new from the factory she had Mickey Thompsons Radias put on it cause she liked te look of wide tires in the rear. Shefigured it would give her better traction. Well her friend who was a drag racer, got it to stand up. Or at least that is what she said. So do you think your truck could stand if everything was brand new and you had some m/ts? By the way my truck has a 400 with a manual.

i can make my front wheels come off the ground if i put it in 2low and hop it that is about it

Get 5 really fats chicks (400 LBer's) to sit on the tailgate and have Lou Ferigno lift up on the front bumper.

My truck (79 f100) has 90/10 drag shocks in the front, coilovers in the back and 33X15X15 Goodyear eagle slicks and might pull the front left wheel an inch off the ground. This is running a 460 and a c6 with a 4500 stall converter launching at 3000 rpm at Bandimere Speedway in Denver.

Ive never seen a streetable 73-79 4x4 truck bring the tires off the ground.

Dang, well I dont know any fat chicks but I do know where to get some bricks.....

In all seriousness, from what you guys are saying, especially mwvdub, it would take some serious work do it. Like huge torque numbers, really stiff rear suspension, gears that wouldn't be drivable on the street, and lots of money. I still think there is a chance.....

Heres a picture of my truck with maybe an inch under the left tire. 460/c6 3000 converter, 3.70 gears, spool, slapper bars, 325/50-15 drag radials, 150 shot right off the line.

Oh yeah it ran a best of 11.41 at 116 1.55 60 ft on pump gas driven to the track. Soon to be faster!

I forgot to mention that I also run 5.13 gears and it launches about like dropped f100's truck with a 60 ft of 1.62.

Another easy way -

5 ton vertical load winch. In fact, you could go airborne!

The gears are still in the front pumpkin, the winch bumper is still on the front but it's got a LOT!!! of motor.
