No, the Powertrain Control Module controls the engine and (automatic) transmission, that is, the "powertrain".

Someone had suggested that as a fix to my issue. He is a great friend, but sometimes, not so good with the advice.
I ended up taking it to a shop, but I still want to know so I can avoid BS from the mechanic.
