Thinking about buying '99 Lightning, any advice?

Guys I am thinking about trading in my '99 Expy EB on a '99 Lightning. The L is a one owner and only has 64k on the clock. Can you guys give me some advice before I possibly buy it? What things should I look for? Any problems with the early gen 2 L's vs the newer gen 2 L's?

Thanks!

Shane

Yes the early ones had leaky intercoolers. Ford had a recall on them (a service bulletin) Make sure it was done cuz now its too late.

Also check to make sure all spark plugs are thight after you buy it to avoid popcorn plug (ask me how I know)

Buy a stock or cloase to stock one.

It wasn't a recall. It was a customer satisfaction service program where leaky intercoolers were replaced for free.

I believe the program lasted for two years before Ford ended it.

Shane, check out this thread (just a few threads beneath this one at the time of this post) which asked the same basic question.
