Differences

Does anyone know the differences between the Police package and the regular expedition. I am assuming bsides the interior changes, there is a oil/tranny/PS cooler and the speed governor allows for higher speeds. Any HP differences I would assume to be minimal as that thing is a beast anyways.

I tried there, What im looking for is more of the inside info. The agnecy I work for is looking to purchase an expedition, to replace our old one which after 202k is pretty much on its last leg. Im trying to figure out if the SSV expeditions have upgraded brakes, oil/tranny cooler, and so on. From what I can tell the engine is the same, trans is the same, no 3rd row seating which is fine, no center console. I saw it has a heavy duty radiator and trans cooler, which comes with a tow package anyways. If this was a charger I would know the differencs really...sigh

Hope you are not looking at getting the EL. I have an 08 and it needs all of the 300 hp & 365 tq to move in fact it could do with another 30 in both figures.

There is no difference between the SSV and the standard expedition as far as drivetrain. You need to check out the michigan state police test, they do a battery of tests on each vehicle. As far as larger coolers, the SSV uses the same coolers as a expedition equipped with the HD tow package. Everything else is the same save the cheap interior. Brakes, suspension, etc, I would however be interested to see how much, if any difference the 20" wheels make in the braking and accel tests.
