front wheel bearings

Greetings all,

I am new to the site, so please forgive me if I am not posting in the correct forum. I have done some searches regarding the service interval on the newer type of non servicable type wheel bearings and have pretty much come up empty handed, except for the cost of replacement.

Here's my question: I just want to know what the service life is on the non sevicable type bearing are. I currently have 44,000 miles on my 05 F250 4x4. It is mainly street driven to work and back everyday (25miles round trip), and I do a fair amount of hwy driving as well. I have never had the wheels submerged above the hubs, and probably only have about 500-1000 miles on the truck with it locked in 4 hi.

A good friend of mine has almost 100k on his 99 F250 crew cab 4x4, and it is my understanding that those trucks have the same type of wheel bearings, and he is on his originals.

Any comments anyone would have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Dale

First off,
Welcome to FTE...and secondly...I think the best possible place to find an answer would be up in the Superduty threads... they should be able to help a bit more than I can.

Thats not to say no one down here will, but your odds are better up there. Also, if you have your owners manual, it may tell you the specific services needed and at what intervals in the maintainence section. Not sure but its worth a shot.

Good luck,
-Chris

Thanks Chris,

I looked around in the super duty section and couldn't find anything there, but, I'll post this message there and see what happens.

Thanks again,

Dale
