Shifter Linkage

Okay guys i need some quick help i bought my 1993 F150 (in sig) in November of 2006 ever since i even test drove it and got it.. It seems to have sloppy shifter linkage like its hard to put into gear you have to pull hard its not smooth

shifting into a any gear how would i go about fixing this or tightening something to make it shift easily in gear and have tight linkage and feedback is appreciated

Look at everything that has two pieces connected, make sure the bushing/bolt (whatever) are good, and allow the moving parts to do so freely. You may need to take them apart and clean/lubricate them.

replace the cable from under the steering column .... to the trans . If you dont .... you will break the shifter tube in the column soon ..... pain in the a when that breaks trust me .

Ok now after you replace the cable .... you have to adjust the new cable .

Keep messing with different places until you can get that joker into drive , and park ....

Check the bracket on the frame just to the left of the trans where the linkage goes mine did the same thing and then just snapped one day while i was heading out ( that will really piss you off) I fabricated a new bracket lined the hole with some 1/4 Teflon it has worked great since good luck
