Differential Cover Bolt Torque Specs.

Can someone provide me with the torque specifications for the differential cover bolts on a 1999 F150 with 3.55 limited slip axle? Also does the limited slip axle require the friction modifier be added to the gear oil?

Thanks, Jim

A limited slip axle will need the modifier. The bolts are torqued to 33 ft/lbs or 45 Nm

just confirming 33ft....i put a Ford Racing Traction-Lok in my truck and thats what i torqued to....also if you have a little time on your hands you should clean your diff cover with a wire brush...as well as the bolts and paint the cover with about 7-8 coats of metallic chrome spray paint...and then paint the bolts black...it is a nice alternative to a $30 chrome cover from ebay and turns out nice....mine has been on for about 7000km now and still isn't peeling or chipping....also use the WHOLE tube of friction modifier...it needs it!

heres a picture...but you cant see it very well.
