K&N Air filter

I'm looking at getting a K&N Air Filter for a 5.4 in an F250. Do you think I'll notice a difference in horsepower & tourque?

There may be a slight (and I mean slight) gain in both, but not enough for you to notice.

Actually I wouldn't waste your money, while it is nice to not have to buy filters, I wish I would have saved the money because I can tell you from experience you don't feel any benefit.

The only way typically to see any type of intake results is to also have a sufficient free flow exhaust. They work hand and hand, the new free flowing exhaust sort of creates a vaacum on the free flowing intake, causing a nice free flowing system. I still dont see the gr8 of improvments with mine, but it sounds amazing, and thats all I care about really. When I lay on the pedal, the intake sounds like a turbo charger, so it be up to you, but if you dont plan to open up the exhaust, then you only be getting half way there with the results you are looking for, but it gets down to preference, it wouldnt hurt to have the K and N, but u also dont need it either

K&N hasn't stacked up so well in independant testing, they allow a lot of dirt to get through, kinda defeats the purpose of an air filter. I have found AEM to be a better choice, they don't require oil to get on your maf and they filter verywell with great flow. I run an AEM dryflow filter on my K&N intake on my ranger.

I think that K&N is terribly over rated. ive also read that independent tests show they do not perform well. you wont be able to notice much of a difference in the power, you may notice a slight difference at the gas pump though. i'd go with wendell and run the aem dry flow, i would of uprgaded to that on my truck, but unfortunately i hit black ice towing a trailer, but thats another story.
