I haven't abandoned FTE!

But it has been tough gettin' back. Amazing how fast time flies.

Had ISP switch and changeover probs., then computer probs. Wifey has had some health issues and my excuse is, as always, work.

It is late so I will get back on when there is more time.

Glad to be back....

Dave

Ronin007 06-16-2007 08:36 PM

Hey Dave. :-wink I hope the wife is doing better. It seems to be one of those years for everyone. I just got back from a funeral for a friend so that is why I have not been online besides being bogged down at work too. :-X15

Melissa - how are things going with you? It's been awhile since talking to you. You and the family doing alright?

MuddyAxles 06-18-2007 04:41 PM

Thank you

Well, I will give her your good wishes for her when she wakes from her nap. I know she will appreciate them all.

Yes, this year has been something so far!

Thanks again.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Darren.

Ronin007 06-19-2007 08:34 PM

Dave - I hope she is on the mend and up and about already. Things have been a rough year for all of us in the NY Chapter so far. I hope things settle down soon for all of us.

Thanks for the condolences Dave. It has been really hard on the family.

lenny1carl 06-19-2007 08:42 PM

Ronin, i missed the post about the loss of your friend. you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers and forgive my oversite.

Ronin007 06-19-2007 08:49 PM

Carl - don't sweat it. He was a good friend of the family. Basically was family as I have known this family almost all my life and grew up with his wife. People don't realize how dangerous something as simple as jump starting a car can be. That is what he died from getting crushed between two vehicles. Very sad.

Good luck with the wife Dave...

I'm around too... hard to surf when I'm home, so many better things to do... and this site is blocked from work, where there isn't much better to do.

Well that sucks!!!

I wonder what the reason is behind that???? :-huh

It's not like this is a porn site.....well....ahhhh....I guess it is if you are into Ford Trucks!!!! :-X22

Or on Club FTE. Sorry to hear about the loss Darren.
Dave give the wife our best wishes.

It has been a topsy turvy year so far. Two cousins and a Step-father in the last few months, I use the site for veg out time. Didn't even go to the All Ford Nationals this year and don't know if I'll be able to make the All truck Nationals. I'll get to Bloomsburg though, if anyone else kicks off they'll just have to have a wake on the show field.

Ronin007 06-20-2007 09:09 PM

Joe - I didn't think about Club FTE. You are right that is probably why they ban it.

Yeah this year has been a tough one for everyone. It hasn't really gone well. Hopefully things will only improve from here on out.

Best wishes to everyone!!! :-X22

Wifey asked me to get her out of the house...

..so we got her in her wheel chair, wheeled her out to the driveway and loaded her into the car. She is doing well now and gets to feeling closed in. You should see her make her way up into that tall van! She's got it worked out where she uses her knee of the leg with the cast and her foot of the other to climb up in. We put a pillow on the running board th keep her from getting tread lines on her knee.

Anyhow, we wandered around a bit and found ourselves re-tracing our tracks from our FTE Letchworth G-2-G of last March. Good memories!

Oh, I guess I never told the health issues...

Some of you know she has to deal with seizures. They are the nastiest of ailments because they come without much warning, if any. One evening when I was at work she must have had a premonition. She went to stay with relatives for the night.

In the am she came down the plus-sized staircase (18 steps they have) and entered one of the downstairs rooms. A seizure swept over her and she went down, twisting her leg and breaking it seriously enough to require a plate, pin, and several screws.

So she is in her 2nd cast and will have yet another before it is over with the leg.

On the seizure issue...the neurologist wants her to consider having another surgery (first was in '01 to remove a tumor) to tidy things up and hopefully remove the source of the recurring Grand Mal seizures. This will not occur until the leg is healed.

On another note: after reading about both POR (paint over rust) and RustBullet, I decided to try the RustBullet. I had bad rust on the oil pan of my '97 Crown Vic. It finally started weeping so I drained it, removed all loose rust, took it to shiny steel everywhere I found a weak spot or hole (and there were plenty), repaired the holes using a few different techniques (screw w/ butyl rubber grommet, a commercial oil pan repair paste, and good ol' Quick Steel putty. There were several static fill tests and one running in place test. No leaks. Two coats of RustBullet. I've put 400 miles on it and nop leaks yet!

A note to anyone using RustBullet: they recommend using gloves and will sell you cheap disposable gloves to do the job. USE THEM! USE SOMETHING and wear as full a head cover as you can and long sleeves. They tell you once it dries NOTHING will remove it other than mechanical action. That means silver hands for about a week, if you care to know.

Dave - sorry to hear about all of the health issues with the wife. I hope she is on the up swing and improving everyday. That was a great time at Letchworth Park. Glad to hear that it brought back good memories for both of you.

Speaking about G2G's I will be posting up another one. Hope you and the wife can make it even for a little while. Melissa, I hope you and your husband can make it too.
