vacuum help
1979 F-250 4x4 400ci standard tranny. i had a shop work on my truck, they left numerous vacuum lines disconnected includeing vacuum advance my truck runs awfull. I cannot find the orignal location for this connection I tried to hook it up to manifold vacuum no it seems to be advanced all the time. I went to autozone.com got a diagram for vacuum hoses and it looks like i am missing a vacuum restrictor. if anyone has any ideas please help

First.... Welcome to the site ! :)
The Vacuum advance hose is supposed to run to the Thermal switch on the T-stat before the switched hose runs to the PORTED vacuum port on the front of the carb..or front side of the carb. There are several hose routings for these trucks and maybe you have the wrong one. Is there a white sticker on the passenger side valve cover? http://www.clubfte.com/users/mil1ion...ationlabel.JPG post that info if you have it There are about 16 different routings for a 79 400. This should be close to the hose routing you require 7-73-R10 https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...id=118602&.jpg |
thanks i'll give it a try !
