What ever it takes to put these trucks on the ground so yes it will be more than 3" and without that negative camber wearing out your tires when your driving low.

here is mine.... going for the old patina service truck look. my grandpa had a service garage in the 50's and i am planning on putting the garage name on the doors in the worn patina look

Cool looking truck, but I would add a roll pan in the rear.

custom cabby 11-20-2007 05:45 AM

i would like to add a roll pan, but i have not really looked that hard into it to find one. the truck took a drastic turn.... i have stripped it down to the bare metal almost completely and putting it in oxide primer until i figure out what i wanted to do with it. i did this because of two reasons... i wanted to see what was under the paint and also... well, i like that old rat rod look and i guess this way i have started to do it and now i have to finish it. i have to play mind games with myself sometimes.

Semigloss over primer how cool can that be, I say project in the works.

Customcab: If it's stored inside, the red oxide primer will hold up. But if you want to seal it use an Epoxy primer.

I always like these old trucks, I think the styling is better than some of the current models. I would love to be able to stretch the cab about 6"-8" to give more leg room and storage. Then stretch the frame the same about so every things matches up and you still have the full size bed. It will also turns some heads, particular the old timers that know that's not factory.

Paint gives a truck character, make it unique as you like.

So there is no bad paint job unless your making a show truck. $20,000 paint jobs are not daily drivers and are only good to look at. I rather drive mine. Just take your time, you will come up with a idea that suits you and yours wants/needs. Don't ever cut your self short, you will be surprised at one can due if the need presents it self.
