Got my flathead runnin properly

Howdy everyone :-wink

Today was the day, I finally got my 1949 Mercury M47 runnin and drover that old gal around abit.

It ran prety dang good, not the greatest but listen to this
In 1966 the motor and drivetrain where perfossionly rebuilt by a Ford authorized plant in Winnipeg.

In 1967 the original owner died and the truck was left to his brother. Who farmed with the original owner but was a Chevy fan. The truck was parked sometime after. When I bought it it still had the 1967 liscence plate mounted, so I believe this to be fairly true.

I bought it 40 years later, I attempted as so did the previous owner to rotate the motor via fan blades, but it seemed to be seized.
be accident I found out the motor was not seized when towin it in my yard.

And today approx. 41 years after being parked the flathead started today, here is a link to my local chapter that will have a link to a short U tube movie of this 23 flattie runnin.
Here's a link to the video
(not uploaded yet but as soon it is I'll post a link)
Here's a link to my local chapter where I hope a few flathead guys will post;)

Thanks for listening and feel free to post a reply at my local chapter Sask/Man. (It would be nice to have some flattie lovers post their educated point of view because most members there like swaping in 302s)

Have a good one
Ryan

Always a moment of awe when an engine roars to life. Congrats of rehab'ing another flathead. Welcome to the club!

Thanks,
In honesty rather then the spark system and fuel system the engine did not need tearing into, I lucked out big time.
