Looking for stock 17" SD wheels for my 99 F250

I need 17" wheels for the tires I'm looking at. Stock would be nice, and should be relatively cheap. If you or someone you know has a stock set sitting around in or near WNY please let me know ASAP. Tax returns were good to me after I itemized, and the house came into play :)

Think I'm going to go up 6" with a ProComp or Skyjacker lift... and then some 37x12.5x17 Interco SSRs.

Thanks,
Jack

Jack - remember that you want wheels that go to a 1999 to 2004 SD and not 2005 and up. The 2005 and up wheels have different backspacing that from what I understand will cause rubbing. Also, stay away from a Pro Comp lift on the SD. Everyone that has run one has regretted it. They run very stiff.

Thanks for the heads up... I think Skyjacker is going to be the way to go.

Check out Skyjacker's Softride system if you do go that route. You might also want to look at SuperLift systems that come with Bilstein shocks and Donahoe Racing which come with Deaver springs. Donahoe will be the most expensive, but probably give you the best ride. Skyjacker and SuperLift make good systems and Full Traction has come out with some nice kits too.

Now I got you thinking!!! :-X07

Bought an 8" BDS full spring kit.

Also bought these:

FWIW, Donahoe Racing now has their own proprietary leaf springs and no longer use Deavers.

Jack - so what size wheels did you go with? 18x8? That should be sweet when you get it done. Going to have it done in time for the Letchworth G2G??? :-D

Dan - thanks for the clarification. I didn't realize that DR did that. Nice to see you here in the NY Chapter. Feel free to stop in any time!! :-X22

Pix are deceiving.

Sweet!!! :)

Jack_99V10 03-10-2007 12:56 PM

got them mounted today... but couldn't balance them. The snap on balancer my buddy had wouldn't accept the huge hub hole in the wheels... so we have to think of a way for that to work.

Ronin007 03-10-2007 02:22 PM

Jack - make sure you get those balanced right. Those 37's will have a lot of rotational mass and will give the truck a bad vibration if you don't.

Jack_99V10 03-10-2007 09:23 PM

I'd say the wheel/tire combo is like 75lbs.. maybe more.

I left the set at the shop, he will figure something out and get them balanced. The lift is going in Wednesday... I can't wait.

Should be balanced tomorrow morning... I hope.
