The thing for me to make the Ex above the Sub is the third row automatic laydown feature. YOU STILL HAVE TO TAKE THE SEATS OUT OF THE VEHICLE ON THE SUBURBAN. CAN'T BELIEVE IT... Ford got them there..

The EL owns the new burb. Hands Down

Isn't the 6.0L available in the Suburban? At about 335 hp?

chaparro 02-09-2007 11:17 PM

Good for Ford

Yes it does and it power is 365 hp. In the Truck Trend magazine they compare the 6.0 sub vs 5.4 Exp. and pulling a 2 ton boat, the subs engine overheat. The gpm were 8.6 the sub and 11.4 the exp. And the exp was faster in flatland and up hill. if you want more inf. log into trucktrend.com and look for 2007 suburban vs expedition.

This is the only head-to-head comparison I could find. The Suburban in that comparison had the 5.3L engine. Do you have a link to the article you mention with the 6.0L test?

kenttrudiw 02-15-2007 02:43 PM

It is now on the home page of Truck trend right at the top.

Thanks!

It's interesting to see how the opinions and measurements changed from one article to the other.

On Edit:
Wonder why the Suburban pictured in their article isn't the one they claim to have tested.

The good thing is that the Expeditions are getting a lot of write ups in these mags and various web sites.

I believe they are all very positive, the only loss is to the GMC Denali (which cost around $7500 more)

Mud Doc 02-15-2007 10:44 PM

(+$7500 for Denali) I was a little concerned at this cost, but maybe is correct. Trying to use KBB as MSRP listings, EXPY EL would be about $51K, and Denali about $57K. Biggest diff on paper is 380 horsepower.

Also, according to some registrations, Ford is leading GM on newer large SUV sales.

GM has a 100,000 mile warranty now on their 07s.
