Here is your decoded tag info:

VIN #: F10 = F100
J = 223 cid 6 cyl.
9 = model year (1959)
R = assembly plant: San Jose, CA
32592=consecutive unit #

W.B. is your wheelbase, in inches(110")
Date = unsure of what you are looking at
Trans : F stands for 4 spd synchronized
Axle : 02 stands for gear ratio of 3.89.

On the date info you have, where are you looking for that info? With some more info, I may be able to help out.

Hope this helps out.

VIN for '59 F100

Here is your decode on your VIN number, Andy:

F10: Half ton
J: 223 six cylinder
0: model year i.d. (1960)
K: assembly plant Kansas City, KS
Last digits: consecutive unit number.

Hope this helps you out.

Also, I use a hand full of places on the internet to get parts. Several even have online catalogs. Try these places out to order catalogs:

Macs Antique Auto parts ( www.macsautoparts.com )
Johns F-fun hundreds ( www.f100.com )
Sacramento Vintage ( www.vintage-ford.com )
Dennis Carpenter Reproductions ( www.dennis-carpenter.com )
These ought to give you a good start.

Tim

Your date code is too long. Should be 3 digits ie..16D 0r 10J. Going by what you have there, 16D would equal April 16, 1959. 10J would equal
September 10, 1958 . It is fairly asy to decode. The Day comes first, then the month. You have to eliminate the letters "I" and "o" because they can be confused with "1" and "0". You count the position in the alphabet that the letter is and eliminate either of the above if the come before your letter. Whatever number you come up with would equal the month. It can get confusing.

VIN for '59 F100

Your VIN decodes as follows
F10: F-100 truck
I: Not listed in my book:Engine code J=223 six cylinder,K=272 V-8
8: Model year, 1958 Looks like your truck is a 58, not a 1959 according to your vin #
N: assembly plant, Norfolk VA
Last five digets are the consecutive unit number.

Hope this helps out
Tim

VIN for '59 F100

I have never heard of Ford setting up their VIN codes like that, as far as a date code. The fourth digit is the only date code as far as late 50s Ford pickups, standing for the model year of the truck. The F10 does stand for F100, as does F25 equalling F250 and F35 equalling F-350. It has been that way for many years, from all literature I have ever seen.

I have what I think is a '57 f-100 barn find but I'm not sure.
Here's the vin: F10K7N12532
Thanks, and is there somewhere I can find pics and descriptions of what original parts would look like? I am an accomplished Vette restorer but I have never done anything with ford or trucks.

I noticed you decoding and wanted to see how many read

mine is all kinds of colors and four-wheel-drive. It does not look after market but the vin doesn't show anything special. The tag says the GVW is 5600. The vin is f10c9k43765, wb is 118, color is def18c, date is 04f, trans is f, axle is a 02. Any help to find out anything on the 4wd

Note: Y'all with 1957/60's are posting in the wrong forum, this forum is for 1948/56 F100 and larger trucks.

Y'all need to post questions in the 1957/60 F100 and larger truck forum.

inre to 4WD: The VIN series code (first 3 digits) for 1959/60 only decode to F100 or F250. The MODEL code stamped on the Rating Plate defines 2WD & 4WD

:-newbie member in post #12 omitted the MODEL code, the COLOR code is not 18C

See parts catalog pic for Rating Plate example:

You also forgot to tell them not to bump 8 year old threads, and then do it again when it's 16 years old. :-X10

I've found it's useless to tell people this, because some others will chime in saying it's OK with them
