2008 Focus and Five Hundred
hmm.
any drivetrain upgrades for the focus yet? 2.3 in something other than the sedan? 5 speed auto with sport mode? I don't think I like the focus. did they keep the hatch models? I guess it will hold us over until they bring the c1 platform(euro focus) here for the focus. the 500 gets the 3.5, right? It's a solid car, just too boring. The refresh helps a little. Now Ford needs to actually advertise it. |
Yeah, 500 gets 3.5L, but I didn't heard anything on Focus.
I like that Focus a lot, what about a turbodiesel? It is generally accepted that the European Focus will never be sold here. It is too expensive to build and Ford has never been too successful at Americanizing European Ford products since the Capri. I owned a Fiesta.

Actually, I think its just a holdover until the c2 platform is released after reading around some more. They'll advertise it as all new and it should hold the sales slide steady until a better car can be produced...
I don't think they even offer the 2.3 in the "new" Focus. I wish they would get with the times and give us the new platform instead of restyling the old one.
The Focus looks like a nice little car. That new 500 reminds me waaaaay too much of a Toyota.
I like what they did with the 500. The 3.5L sounds like a big improvement. 265hp that was Mustang GT territory back in the 90s. Should be a fairly fun car.
Still don't like the 500, styling does nothing for me, to bland. Focus coupe reminds me of the mid/late 90s Nissan 200sx, but I like it, I'm not a fan of hachbacks at all. If I was in the market for a small coupe I would take a look at it, when they only offered the the sedans and hatch's I would never have given them a look.
ford is messing up big time with the focus and it's power choices. No more 2.3 I have the 2005 focus ST and it is a great car. ford needs to really dominate in the small car market. they won't do that with a reskined 1999 design. They need to bring the european focus here and compeat for real.
