Highest Point in Lee County
I had posted about this in the thread I started about Mike Shay, but that wasn't a good idea upon reflection. I mean after all, most didn't respond to that at all, and those that did, didn't know who he was anyway.
SO Yesterday we were listening to Shay's radio show as I took the kids to school and he said he'd like for people to call him if they knew the highest point of elevation in Lee County. He's lived there for 38 years, and he's just not sure where it would be. If you have the answer, give him a call at 888-524-MIKE. He'll probably record your response and you might end up on the radio. And suddenly you are an overnight celebrity sensation... OK that probably won't happen. OR you could post it here and someone else can call it in. If you're shy that is. |
Hey Opie, you have your GPS on your computer... you could find it! I have no clue so I didn't answer on the other thread.

The state's lowest elevation point (at 480 feet) is in Lee County.
http://www.ontrackdesigns.com/seeusrun/iowafacts.htm as for the highest in lee county, that should be the piles of unpaid bills i have |
Well he announced today that the highest point in Lee Co. is at the base of the West Point water tower along route X23. He also mentioned the 480 feet fact, but now he's not sure where that is either. He guessed it was along the river (I imagine he means the Mississippi).

I would imagine that would be just north of Montrose, right on the bank of the river.
