f-superduty lug pattern?
 

hi guys, i know its been way too long since i have been on here. but things happen and there are other problems to be taken care of in life...long story.

anyways, i was building that f-550...
i was wondering if anyone could tell me what the lug pattern is on one of those bad boys? this is the 10-lug wheel style.

here's a little background info if needed...
took a 94 f-350 crew cab dually 7.3IDI and tore it completely apart.
then bought a 94 f-superduty (f-550) it was an old PSI energy truck w/ a boom.
it was a std cab, so i stretched the frame and set my crew cab on it. bed has yet to be mounted. and i havent made a conversion plate for my perkins diesel yet either. thought about a cummins but i like the perkins better.

i want to bolt up some 24" semi rims w/ low profile tires. the only place i have found so far is chromewheel.com and they are outrageous on prices. although i think i will have to buy the rims from them...a true 24" semi rim is actually 24 1/2" so they machined them down to accept low profile car tires.

anyways they want like $2G or somethin stupid for 4 adapters. i can make the adapters no prob. i know the semi lug pattern is 10x285(i think, i can look it up) i just cant find the ford lug pattern.

if anyone can help, it would be much appriciated

The bolt pattern is 10-7.25 its standard not metric you happy now :-X14

The old F-Superduty were the first version of the F-450 they are good trucks been using them for about 6 years now. The only problem with them is they do run 16" wheels that limits the size of the brakes.

yes, i am happy now :-missingt . yeah i know what you mean about the 16" rims. the newer ones run 19.5" now dont they? or so i thought. thanks for the help!

hey, another thought. does any of your 450's have a mondo e-brake? i bought this truck that used to be an old energy truck and it has this hydraulic override. you pull a knob, push down the brake pedal, and it supplies like 7000psi or somethin stupid to all 6 tires. no way you are movin it w/ the e-brake pulled.

just wonderin if you know much about them? i have this one, but the truck is is pieces (see photo gallery) and i never got to test it out yet.

No I don't have one on my truck. What you have is a Mico lock (line lock) they are not legal for a emergency brakes. They work good for temporary use while your working but never use it for overnight use or you will blow every seal in the brake system. What it does is hold fluid pressure on the brake calipers being the F-Superduty is 4 wheel disk.

It sounds like you have a project on your hands if your putting a crewcab body on a F-Superduty chassis which were custom ordered from Ford. Putting in the Perkins is also different which is good everybody is doing Cummins swaps the Perkins is one of a kind. Actually the Perkins swap has been around alot longer than the Cummins because allot of people used to swap Perkins into older trucks I forget the model but its something like a 346 ?

oh i c...thanks for the info on the brakes...i had no idea what it was. but how come there is no e-brake pedal in the truck like all other trucks? maybe they just didnt need one on a boom truck?

yeah, the perkins is a 354...but the official name is 354.6T = 354 c.i., 6 cyl, turbocharged. apparently, IH used to put these motors in their trucks. i am tryin to find a bellhousing and trans from an IH to fit the perkins. so far no luck...nobody happens to have one they will sell or know where one's at????

The F-Superduty trucks used a driveshaft brake if you look at the stock transmission there should be a brake drum on the back of it. If the truck was a bucket truck and it was a 5spd it probably had a PTO on the transmission to run the bucket. The stock E brake holds okay but no where near as good as a mico lock

yeah...there is no motor or trans, but it had a 460 and ZF5 at one time.

thanks for that link...mine is similar to that one only it is mounted on the frame and there is a cable that runs up to the cab. i thought i had a picture of it, but i cant find it yet.
