I have a 1977 F-150 4X4 that I mud and dirt drag, it is the late 77 that makes it the same as the 78-79 models on parts. This was important to know on engine swaps, lift kits, headers and ect. The early 77 F-150 trucks were like the 76 down.
I don't know about the F-250 trucks, but you might want to check it out.

Good luck.

thanks deerhunter. Someone told me that the early 77's had a double hump oil pan and the later 77's had the sump in the back. My truck has the sump in the back so maby it is the later model?
Getting ready to swap in a 460 in place of the worn out 400. When get completed would like to get it muddy.

Sorry James, I did not get an email notice on your reply. And I have been so busy that this is the first time I have checked this thread.
If you need parts for your truck, call Jeffs Bronco Grave yard and ask for Mark, they have about anything you could want, and Mark is very knowledgable.
