Are there any adjustments on a AODE?
 

I did a brief search and didnt find anything on if there are adjustments on a AODE (like band and pressure ect.)

The AODE was only used in cars but if this is for your 1994 F150 then it has a 4R70W and here are the adjustments for it.

The PCM Computer adjusts the oil pressure as you drive.

Band Adjustment.

<dt> If you changed the Low/Reverse band or the planet check the band adjustment.

Low/Reverse Band - 1/4'' (selective servos)

Here's how to check it

</dt><dt>1. Install servo assembly into case. </dt><dt>2. Use the back of a hammer handle to push down the servo cover until it stops. </dt><dt>3. Measure the distance between the bottom of the snap ring and the servo cover. This is your clearance. </dt><dt>4. Adjust by grinding or welding end of servo pin. OD Band

Non Adjustable - However, once the pump is tight and the OD servo is installed take a pair of channel locks and make sure you can turn the output shaft in both directions. If the output shaft only turns one way the band is too tight. Fix it by grinding the pin shorter.

If you changed the OD band or reverse input drum check the band adjustment.

Transmission end play can be adjusted using one of the selective thrust washers available for service. After measuring the depth, install the required thrust washer.

It has a button on the shift leaver for the overdrive and a OD on the selector.

My 93,94 f150 has E4od trans is same as 4r70w ? My trans guy call it E4od. just wondering I want to calling by right name.

NO.
The E4OD is an Electricaly controled C6 where the 4R70W is an Electricaly controled AOD.

There are only three differences between the 4R70W and the AODE.
1. Different gear set. (A wide ratio gear set in the 4R70W, hence the W.)
2. 4R70W uses a larger outside diameter slip yoke on the driveshaft which requires different extension housing.
3. 4R70W uses a better output shaft material for the higher torque of 1st gear.

The code on the door under "TRANS" will tell the type of transmission you have, you could also have the E4OD transmission.
If it is a "U" then it is a 4R70W.
Codes:
G = C6
U = 4R70W
E = E4OD

The code is a U, so it must be a 4R70W.

I think I would not go back to that "trans shop" as if they put a AODE in your truck you would not have as much pulling power.

There is not any adjustments you can make on from the outside of the 4R70W.

There is no adj on the outside and the pan has 14 bolts in it also the pan is square with 2 corners slightly cut off.
