I'm not intentionally ignoring you fab.....just been a little busy the last couple of days. I am going to reply to it this evening.

I helped put an engine in Jim's truck last week  . Something in the water down here.....both of us had cracked blocks.....that's actually how we met, outside of the forums that is.

Sorry to hear that Scott, just wondered, thats all. When I lived there I thought it
was the best water I've ever had!

FABMAN.

Obviously cracked blocks are contagious: please stay out of TX LOL

On a serious note did you buy a rebuilt or get one from a salvage yard?
If its rebuilt I think everyone would be interested in your assessment after you drive it for a while.

cookie88 05-03-2006 01:37 PM

I bought a rebuilt long block from Diesel Innovations and new Alliant Power injectors modded to stage II specs.

I have heard good reports about DI. Let us know how it works out.

Stage II injectors :-X22 nothig like a little performance enhancing mod to make an otherwise PIA job seem worthwhile :-D

That's kinda what I thought too. Why go through all that work for stock?

So far I'm very pleased with it....but I have a few hundred more break in miles before I can test it proper. }>

Phydeaux88 05-04-2006 08:56 PM

I would make that heavy on the TEST

cookie88 05-06-2006 11:53 AM

Yes sir.....my right foot is just aching from having to hold it so far off the floor. I really want to drop the hammeon it, but I really want this one to last even more, so I'm breaking it in right (I think).

kennedyford 05-09-2006 10:44 AM

Im thinkin you need up to 10k before fuel milage will come up on the break in. I just checked with ford on a reman drop in at 6k top to bottom turbo and all. Is that about same for you? 415,000+ miles on her. Troy

cookie88 05-09-2006 05:07 PM

$6,000 for a drop in complete reman??? That is a smokin' deal. Cheapest I've seen that from Ford is $9,100
