Junkyard score!!!

All hail the Restoration Gods and Junkyard Gods for bestowing upon me the great find of an unmutilated Tilt Freakin' Stearing column for my '78 :-X14 Nice and smooth, complete and was cheap!

The only thing I would have found more exciting would be a zf 5speed. . .

alright, just had to share the high point of my day :-X22

:-X07 Congratulations! Great find! Now, if you could get the Restoration Gods to bless my '70 Ranger XLT............................................... .......

Whatta they owe yah?

Thats right, I said OWE!

:-D

vanwho 04-30-2006 07:56 PM

A set of doors, complete, no missing parts, including working vent windows WITH handles, that are in decent shape or at least re-skinable (is that a word?) That's to start with. The list grows...........................:-X07

Franken-Truck 05-01-2006 09:20 PM

WOW, I was thinking maybe a peice of trim, or a knob or something. . .but doors like that? Man, I think I have better odds of finding an unmolested Dana 60 front end :-X07

j/k :-X06

Actually, the doors are in good shape considering their age. It's just the usual rust at the bottom of both and the vent window handle on the drivers side is broken off. But all the trim is there. Just wishful thinking on my part. I'm happy with it, rust and all. Whad'ya expect for 36 years young?:-D

Franken-Truck 05-02-2006 07:25 PM

I hear yah, the 73-79 doors are the same way. The ones on my 78 are rusted out at the bottom, and all the ones I have seen at the junkyard are the same way. Lots of glass and trim and what not though :-X22

You ever check out EastWood? They have EVRYTHING for doing body work. Skinning tools and all :-X06

I have some free time tonight ( bowling leagues done for the moment <'till May11th> ). I'll check on it after dinner.

If I had it to do over, I'd never have left Virginia without FIRST bagging as many 302 HO engines as they had at Johnson's Mustang and Truck...

They were the overhead cam setup, and he wanted $1,000 each for 'em at the time.
