Sounds like a nice sled man...i have a '97 vmax 600 xtc...reverse, elec start, red skid plate, plastic ski upgrade...but im selling it in the fall for either a 4 stroke Yamaha or an XC Polaris. Gonna shoot for 03-04 range.

Yeah, its a nice sled.
Dont get an '03 or '04 Yamaha 4-stroke. Those things had terrible suspensions and were known for cracking front w-arms.

We have a 99 Polaris 600 XC, and an 01 Polaris Indy 500 Classic Touring (reverse, electric start, 2 seater)

I haven't seen any problems with the A arms whatsoever. But if I steer clear of a 4-stroke it'll be because of weight. Those sleds are heavier and don't have as much rear travel. Not exactly suitable for the type of riding we do.

Any Yamaha with the ProAction rear suspension (basically anything '97-'04) is known for the front w-arm cracking.
If you dont believe me, just go to www.ty4stroke.com and go to the "suspension-stock" section and read for yourself.

Im going to look at an '82 John Deere Trailfire LX today. The guy wants $300 for it. I figure if its in decent shape and it runs I will go for it. I need a good beater sled to ride in southern Wisconsin.
