Anybody know good tranny rebuilders (C-6)

I have just pulled the tranny with Jakes help (thanks jake :-X22 ) and I would like it rebuilt. It will be setting behind a 460 stock for now but will be rebuilding with in 6 months or so. I would like the to put in the lower first gear out of a E4OD if possable, any help would be great. I am wanting to do this in the next month or so if possable.

thanks for the help

And Monica didn't think I could pick up the C6 myself. Pah!

I think Monsterbaby is one of the resident C6 experts. I am sure he will be along shortly.

Yeah, just waiting for Rob to see this lol. He's said he does it before.

I'll admit, that C6 was a bit of a chunk. Ya got me =P

There is a guy in Fairfield by the name of Dennis Tucker (Tucker Trans Service). Does one of the best tranny jobs around, and reasonably priced. Not sure how much work he does since he retired from John Deere, but it would be worth the call. 641-472-9073

Edit: There is also Wanders Machine in Oskaloosa. I have most of my machine work done there. Kevin, the owner, knows his stuff. He may be able to do the low gear swap, as I'm not sure Tucker will. They are a little pricer, but will warranty the rebuild for 3yrs/36k miles. 641-673-9677

Wanders is a good place too, you're right. I was friends with I think his neice in high school (in my class)

Yes I can and do rebuilt trannies, I won't let anyone else build my race tranny. I sent you a return email (hadn't read this till it was mentioned to me and I saw your email.)
Yes you can put the wide ratio gear set in but personally it's easier and about as cheap to buy it in hte kit rather than modify one straight out of the EAOD tranny although if you happen to have one laying around for free than it might be cheaper.

weldingfreak 03-17-2006 12:47 PM

thanks I wondering if you would

weldingfreak 03-17-2006 12:49 PM

thanks for the e-mail

monsterbaby 03-17-2006 12:53 PM

sorry it helps if you push send after you type the email.

weldingfreak 03-17-2006 01:00 PM

after reading the e-mail I think the stock rebuild will suit me fine, it is a stock motor and will be for a while.

monsterbaby 03-17-2006 01:03 PM

thats fine let me know, I think I have a standard rebuild kit here already.

weldingfreak 03-17-2006 01:04 PM

I will have the money after the 23rd so I guess anytime after that

monsterbaby 03-17-2006 01:06 PM

Well if you have it out and want to drop it off I can get to it and get it done and ready for you.

weldingfreak 03-17-2006 01:14 PM

thanks I will get with jake to see when I will be able to make it out there
