63 Econoline: Gas to Propane conversion question

My 23 year old son will be looking to buying a 1963 Econoline/ 351 to that had been converted to propane by the first owner several years ago. (buying it from the second one who had kept it in very good condition overall but been in storage recently). It used to be 3 speed but was converted to an automatic with a floor shift by the original owner as well.

My question is what is to be expected with this kind of gas to propane conversion? What kind of things to look for? What kind of mileage as compared to a gas fueled engine?

I know these questions are rather broad but at least have some idea what He and I are looking at.

Thank you for any help.

could you send me the vin and name of the former owner privately please? it sounds lie one being worked on several years ago by a freind.

as for fuel mileage, might get the same mpg as a gas rig but propane is cheaper. power i believe is down a little by running propane instead of gas, but propane is easier on the engine.

propane systems have a filter inline somewhere, the filters have been known to clog and require someone with the proper knowledge to replace.

is it running on only propane? or is it running on gas with propane injection?

The deal fell through and so found a regular later model gas van instead.
