toddn78 goodluck with that new camper! AINT nothing like camping, and when u have a trailer, IT's EVEN BETTER!! haha
new camper in the yard is no fun - GO CAMPING:)
Motorhomes and trailors are nice it is just impossible to get them in alot of places I like to camp. I may break down and get one some day. I used to camp a couple miles from the truck. As I get older I keep camping closer to the truck. Nowadays I may get a couple hundred feet away but its still far enough I am away from the crowd.

I like the pop up because it gives you the tent feel, good in a down pour....however as i age the setting up part has became a pain..
I started canping many years ago with a tent ,went to a topper on a pickup, then to a slide camper,to a 35' 5th wheel trailer. The 2 slide in campers are what I lile the best. The only draw back was that you had to unhoke everything if you needed to go somewhere.
Now I'm back in a tent.Heck I load up all the camping stuff in the BII,the family and off we go,you can wind up in some realy off the beanten path with that set up. Darn now I went to go camping. |
70blue, you need to look into the offroad pop up that fleetwood makes. its pretty sweet. will go just about anywhere u can take ur truck offroad.
well i went from a tent for years to a 36 foot 5th wheel, didnt want to try all the in between, just jumped straight to the "space and room". haha
anybody have any spots/campgrounds they just love to visit in GA? |
My favorite spot is the Chattahochee national forest. You have the clear cold rivers and streams, the mountains, trout, waterfalls and isolation if your willing to throw on a backpack. They do have improved camping areas (fee based) but no electricity hookups. They are sorta crowded near holidays. Improved just means you have a flat space to pull your trailor, a fire ring, picnic table, lantern stand and a chemical flush outhouse nearby. Their is something there for everyone to enjoy unless you just have to have electricity, internet, a pool, and running water. If that is your kind of camping I suggest you look into a campground in the KOA chain.
