Glad to hear you got something to keep ya occupied, Roger, even with your run of bad luck. I hope you at least killed that deer... damned cornfield robbin' critters. If ya see any of them heading north, think about running them down, too, okay? I'd sure appreciate it. :-D

The one that did all the damage ran off, but the first one I ran over, I ran right over the neck, so it was all good meat from that one. For the most part, things are going better, I at leat was able to get my parts from where I am working. BTW, Fifty four, we have 4 Explorer/ Navajo's. so parts aren't a problem, at least unless the place gets sold, which is a possibilty, always something....

Hey Fellro, glad to hear something good from ya, ya didn't by chance pick up that dear did ya....lol? I hit some black ice the other day and slid the 94 stang into the ditch, luckily it just busted the mirror off and the rest was fine, except it looked like I hit a deer from the looks of my pants...haha...just kidding. Slid it into the ditch sideways/backwards, got the wrecker and pulled it right out, drove it home, got out of school and my dentist appt. I have to get a new mirror for the Stang, then I'll see how much I have left over for a new rear end for my truck. Hope ya have better luck come the holiday weekend. Merry Christmas to all.

Yeah, that deer went home with me alright! Well, so far things are looking up of a sort, gonna be interesting. The owner just sold off our main lot, the import lot with all the facilities, but kept the domestic lot with a smaller building and fewer cars. The new owner apparently wants me to stay, as does the old owner want me to stay on with him, do I smell bidding war? ;) Doesn't matter which one I go to, I'll get more money. Also, both lots have the rear axles, so that also is no problem, 2 at the import lot, at least 2 at the domestic lot. I am kinda torn though, I like to deal with the vehicles at the domestic lot better, but the better setup is at the import lot, have to see what the offers are before I can make a decision... also, if anyone is needing work and is willing to either live or drive to the Homestead area (15 west of Coralville) I may be in a position to help soon.

Hey Roger, thanks for locatin that rear end once again, you wouldn't by chance have any Monte SS or S10 posi rear ends would you? A buddy of mine that is re-doing his 83 Cutlass w/a C*^y 350 in it wants one and wanted me to see if you had one. If not thats cool. Happy new year to all, be safe.

That one is less likely, used to have one but a friend of mine took it for his Camaro, but it had the torque arm and all that on it, no upper control arms. S10's would be a pain unless he just wants the diff itself. For complete bolt in he's stuck with G-body's, (cutlass, monte, malibu, regal, grand prix) For diff parts look into trans am's and Iroc/Z28's.

Roger, so you're saying he would be better off just getting a center section out of a Camaro/Firebird and putting that in his stock housing? Kind of what I thought but he heard that the S10 rears would fit in there without major modifications. I think he just wants the posi center section. You have any leads on any of those?

fellro86 01-02-2006 05:27 AM

The S10 is leaf spring, so mounts have to be added is the mods required, same on the F-body rears. I don't know anything on any posi's at this time, but I'm sure ebay has them. If you get just the carrier, or carrier and ring and pinion, shipping shouldn't be too bad.

Nope, not too good at all... and as it turns out now, I no longer have that work...
