do 16.5 rims come in 5 on 5.5 bolt patterns?

Ive been told that they do, but i figured id ask on here before my friend and I start searching for something that doesnt exist...so, do 16.5 rims with a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern even exist in the real world??

ford390gashog 12-05-2005 02:50 PM

not sure. but 16.5 tires are hard to find and pricey. i would look for 16'' ones try www.summitracing.com

SwOkcOffRoader 12-05-2005 02:59 PM

well the thing is we found a commercial tire dealer that has some offroad tires for 50 bucks apiece that are in decent shape...some are the typical 36" humvee tires and the others im not sure of the brand but they had a decent tread pattern and for the price we cant pass them up, thing is they are all 16.5's....i personally have 16.5 8 lugs on my rig, but my friend has a project with the 5 on 5.5 pattern with 15 inch wheels...we figured if we could find some stock wheels that are 16.5- 5 on 5.5 we could have his project rolling sooner than if we waited for him to save up for the interco's he really wants....most likely he will just stick with the 15 inch wheels he has, but it would be cool to get him rolling on the 37-10.50x16.5 tires we found for 50 bucks apiece....im probably gonna replace my worn out 35" BFG MTs with a set of those 37"s until i can get a new set of MTs...

Summitracing has some aftermarket wheels, starting around $50. You probably won't find any stock wheels with those parameters, however.

16.5s are still cheeper than 16s. Look around some more. And you can find tat setup for rims if you look around some. It is not too popular so it will be pricey.

What tire dealer is this? I know, or have been told, that the tire shop in Slaughterville sells them cheap. :-huh

If your going with a standard size tire (anything other than a 39.5 or something) you are well advised to go with a 16 or a 17 inch wheel. 16.5's are dieing!

true, we only considered using 16.5s on his project cause we found 37"-12.50x16.5 tires for 50 bucks apiece....if he is going to spend more money on new tires he is gonna stick with the 15" rims he has cause they are in great shape, plus Interco LTBs are only $109 for 31-10.50x15....it just would be cool AND cheap to go with the 37's on 16.5s......i already have 16.5s on my F-250 and will probably stick with them and buy a set of the 37s until i can afford something better.....

its right across the river from pull a part on the corner of se15th and central.....its actually a commercial truck tire place, but they have a selection of smaller tires, 36's being the smallest....they have a brand new set of BFG MTs i was drooling over, but i never did get a price on them...

I was looking at a truck this past spring that had the Humvee tires and he said he got them in Slaughtrerville. I wish I had enough lift and gear on my 81 to run them. :-D Are you going to run some on your 78? Does this guy have any dirt cheap 31-33" in a somewhat aggreseive tread?

16.5s with a 5 x 5.5 pattern

SwOk, I don't know of anyone who stocks wheels in that size, but Stockton Wheel can make them that way for you. 65$, IIRC. DF

It was many moons ago,but I had a 68 intertrational with 5.5 bolt pattern 16.5s about 10 inches wide. They were just a plain steel wheel.

SwOk do they have any 14x20 the 46" military tires?

SwOkcOffRoader 04-06-2006 10:32 AM

im not sure about military tires, but they are a commercial tire dealer so i bet they have somekind of offroad 20" tire, i seen alot of AG tires and tractor like tires out there...they have alot of tires id love to put on a 4x4 if i could find 20" or larger wheels...

I'm having fun trying to find 20x10"s that don"t go over $200.00 a wheel.
