Waste Oil supply

I had read on this site about somebody buying the oil from a recycler that had already picked it up and filtered it. I called the company that picks up a lot of the local stuff and they wanted 25 cent per pound not gallon. That would make the effort hardly worth it. They have filtered it and dehydrated it.

PowerKleen, you bring up a good point that seems like the result most of us are getting upon true research rather than reading internet posts: WVO is not laying around free for the taking! It is out there, but ya gotta find a source.

But I wonder what the heck these big companies are doing with it?

I had seen a Carolina ByProducts truck at a local convenience store and that is the company that I had called. I was at the same store today getting some lunch and spoke the lady working and she said a guy up the road was getting their oil now and using it for Bio. I told her that I had seen the truck up there and she informed me that they would give to this guy because the recycling company was doing it for free but know they are charging about $250 to pick it up. I dont blame them for giving about 10 gallons a week away instead of having to pay for it to be picked up.
