2.3l, 4d55 Mitsubishi Diesel engine parts??
1986 Ford Ranger - dandy little truck. getting blow by in 2 cylinders. Hopeing someone may know where to mail order rings, inserts etc. Have had the truck for quite a few years and have rebuilt pretty near everything else. I figure they will be pricey - would like to know where to source. All engine rebuilding shop have no listing and there isn't a Mitsubishi Dealer in our area. Anyone find anything on the net??
Thanks Frank |
if you were closer i'd let you have the block out of my parts truck, for cheep $$$. it blew a cam belt and ruined the head.

That's a great offer tempforce, Thanks anyway. We are supposed to adjust the valves every 15,000 miles, I just found out. So we did and changed the timming belt - what a difference in power and I'm not sure yet but it may have helped the blow by problem. Also there has to be a CDR, according to pnose, that may be plugged causing the crankcase vapours to build up and blow out the dip stick. This is a great tough little truck, once we get all the bugs out it'll be a smooth machine.
Thanks Frank |
Oh and Northern Autoparts.com and Autozone.com have most of the parts we're looking for!!
|
If you still have this head are there any parts that are still good: camshaft, cam caps, injectors, fuel rail, etc.? Please let me know.
Thanks, John...josan_85228@yahoo.com |

parts
sorry i haven't replied. i haven't been on this site for a while.
i scraped the vehicle, and all of the parts, except i do have 3 injectors for the engine. i may have the 4th somewhere but due to having to move everything. i don't know where the 4th one is at. i found a replacement head at a dealership in texas, that was back when i was still thinking of fixing the truck. the bare head was $850 + freight. and for a $200 rig, it wasn't feasible. sorry for not replying sooner. cc |
no parts
sorry, i scraped the truck. i kept the engine for over a year. but had to get rid of it when i moved.

Isn't that engine similar to the one in the little old Ram50?
|
Identical engine as d50 just externals are different, alt power steering pump etc. They also use a serpentine belt as opposed to a v-belt.
|
D50 is v ranger is serpentine.
|
d 50
i know where there is a complete d 50 diesel in salem oregon. been sitting for a long time. but parts may be usable.
|
Is it a 2.3 turbo diesel?
|
I know of a complete 2.2 engine and trans if you are looking for parts, it is apparently in running order.:-X22
