292 Y Block

Hi this is Ken.I have an old 292 Y Block Ford motor with the Forged Crank,Rods and pistons..It's in decent condition..I was wanting to know if they are worth rebuilding ?? The crank ,rods are in perfect condition..The bearings look like new..There was some water damage in a couple of the cylenders...I could probably hone the cylenders out enough to re ring it..Is it worth my time and money to fix ?? Any information will be greatly appreciated.......Thanks.....

lilKenny, also welcome to the site.
If you look around on this forum you will see that we like Y's! If you rebuild the 292, what would you put it into? That could help with the "is it worth it" question. The Y-blocks now have more aftermarket parts than ever before, but still not nearly as many some of the other motors.
How did you determine you have a forged crank? Have you checked out www.ford-y-block.com to ID the year of the motor?
Mike

You would have better luck posting what you need over on the 61-66 forum.
