2004 F150 Transmission problem

I have an '04 FX4 and my transmission would shudder when down shifting... and now it simply will not shift into 3rd gear... I start off fine in drive then once i hit 3rd the truck winds up as if in neutral... For the time being I have been driving only using manual 1st & 2nd gear.

What could be my problem?

is it still under warranty? if so let them deal with it. the transmission is toast . the clutches are worn out or any number of things.

Happened with my 2004 F-150, it would shuder and "thump" really hard when downshifting. Ford said "There is no fix out for this problem yet, but we will inform you when we get one.." Some bull**** like that, Get them to put a whole new tranny in it. They offered me a new tranny but I declined and traded it in for a 2006 F-250 the next week.
