King Ranch/Mark LT Leather shift knob in
 

my '05 Lariat (floor shift)? I have my Ford guy looking into the feasibility of switching out the plain grey looking shifter knob for the King Ranch matching leather knob. Same chrome accents - just where the grey plastice is on the Lariat is color coordinated leather on the KR. He told me the LT has the same leather and has ordered a shifter handle to see what it will take. My price in the new shifter handle is going to be in the low $40 dollar range so this could be an easy, inexpensive and high visual impact upgrade......will keep you informed as I find out more info.

I was wondering several months ago if there was an aftermarket piece for that. I didn't know that the LT and King Ranch had it though.

Please keep us posted. The leather shift knob was one of the few things I felt I would do differently on this great truck. I think it should come on the FX4 when you get leather seats (at least). I thought about covering the plastic with leather myself but never got motivated enough to try. I'd rather go with a ready-to-go upgrade if the price is decent.

Anyone have any luck switching the shifter? Posts before said floor shifter from the lincoln would not fit. Is the king ranch floor shifter different the the Lt. Thanks BWEP

Sorry to mislead you guys - but I guess I misunderstood my dealer and the King Ranch does not come with the leather shifter - only the Mark LT. I have a Mark LT leather handle now and have not had the chance to do the install yet - going to involve using the dremel and making it fit. After looking at the LT handle though - I may just go to an upholstery shop and see about purchasing leather and gluing it on my Lariat shift handle myself. It simply wraps around the handle and tucks under the chrome pieces at each end.
