need advise restoring and protecting canopy from sun

Am new to the Ford world, and happy so far. Just bought a '88 F150 supercab with a 5L V8 in wonderful condition. Has a nice Canopy West plastic(?) canopy on it. My Question: It has been abused by the sun (the canopy). The plastic is starting to dry and age, and I would like to protect it and bring back the shine. I have been spraying Son of A Gun/Armorall type plastic cleaner/UV liquid, and the canopy sucks it right up with some noticable results. Is there anything else I can do? It has a pebble texture, so I think that wax is out of the question. Thanks

Why don't you clean it well, and then re-paint it with a vinyl paint? I works well on door panels, etc. If it's done per instructions it won't rub off or fade.
